Visitors and the disco
This week we were lucky enough to have a visit from Angela, a florist. The children all loved finding out about flower arranging and then having a go at making their own posies.
On Wednesday morning our parents came in to decorate a clay tile and have a look at our Learning Diaries. The tiles look fantastic and will hopefully soon be hanging on the tree outside our classroom. Thanks to all the parents who were able to attend this event.
On Thursday evening it was the school disco. The children were very excited all day and had a great time dancing, singing and eating lots of sweets. Thanks to the PTFA for organising this event.
We hope everyone has a great half term and we look forward to seeing your holiday homework about animals.

Shapes
This week we were lucky enough to have visit from the police. They came and talked to us about their job and stranger danger. We then all had a go in the police van - some of us even got locked in the back!!

More investigating
This week in YR we have been doing lots of investigating. We had some giant ice balloons which we enjoyed exploring. We poured some water on and it broke up into small bits. We put some food colouring and all the cracks were coloured in. We put some salt in the ice and it all melted.
In the sand tray some of us built a castle and a boat for baddies.

A very short week
This week YR have been doing lots of experimenting. We used some guttering to make constructions for water to flow down. This involved lots of problem solving and sticky tape.
We also investigated what happens when we add different things to water. We enjoyed making all sorts of weird and wonderful concoctions with salt, sugar, coffee and flour.
