Art and plants

This week we have been continuing with our plants topic. We have been experimenting with different sorts of art materials and have really enjoyed using the brusho and powder paints.
In maths this week we have been investigating different ways to make 10 and the children learnt a song to help them remember these number facts. In Literacy we write a sentence about something we are proud of. We also acted out the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and learnt a song called Hello Mr Sun.
We also had a visit from Mrs Roberts on Friday who has been going in to all the classes in the school to look at children's writing. Mrs Roberts was extremely impressed by YR's writing and how much improvement she could see from the beginning of the year. So a big well done YR and keep up the good work - your teachers are very proud of you!
Have a great bank holiday weekend.

Plants and flowers

YR made a great start to the new term. Our new topic is plants and our teachers have been really impressed with some of the holiday homework that children have been bringing in to share. This week we went on a Spring walk around the school grounds to see what has been growing and changing since we were last at school.
On Monday afternoon we did a lot of planting to cheer up the area behind our classroom. We also planted some bean seeds and have been very excited to see the changes already happening.

This week we have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk and some of the children have enjoyed acting out the story. In maths we have been buying things from the garden centre in the classroom using 1ps.
Hope everyone has a sunny weekend.
