It is almost the holidays but we have still been really busy. Peter Humphries has been in the school working with all the children on our Fountaineer Project. Today he took groups of us out to see how we could use the fountain to make actions to go with our nursery rhymes. It was great fun.
We have been using the 'Quiet area' that some of you helped create in the Reception outdoor area. We have been finding and drawing minibeasts, making lists of them and digging around for more. We are looking forward to using it even more next term.
Hope you all have great holidays. Next term our topic is 'Animals', so if you have any books, links or information that could be shared with the children we would love to show this.

This week we have enjoyed getting creative! We have all made tiles out of clay in lots of different shapes and have almost finished painting them. Once they are dry we are going to decorate them and put them outside in our outdoor area to brighten up the wall.
We have also been looking at an artist's painting and making our own pictures. They will be displayed in the hall next week so come and have a look at them. They are really stunning.
Our flower pots are now painted and decorated and we have planted our flowers in them. Once they are varnished we will be bringing them home so you will be able to see them soon.
Hope you enjoy the weekend and that the sunshine might return again!

This week we have been involved in lots of 'plant' activities. We have finished off our 'Enormous ...' books which are lovely and have almost finished off all the fruit that you kindly sent in for our fruit salad last Friday. The children enjoyed helping cut up all the different fruits, but had an even better time when they came to eat them!
We have also been looking at the changes that have been happening in our school grounds and taking some photos as well as looking at what has been happening to our bean seeds. Some have grown so tall that they don't fit in their bags anymore. We will be bringing them home in a few days and hopefully some of children may be able to plant them in their gardens and enjoy some beans in early Autumn.
Enjoy the weekend. Let's hope the weather lasts a little longer.

sThe start of the new term has been hectic. We have been busy setting up a garden centre as part of our topic on'Plants' and Mrs Marshall, Mr Woodcock and some parents last Friday were working hard to clear another area in our outdoor area so that we could plant that up this week. It is looking lovely out there so a big thank you to all those involved.
We have beans growing in our classroom and the children have nearly finished making things for our 'Jack and the Beanstalk' display. We have had fun acting this and 'The Enormous Watermelon' story out and are looking forward to eating our fruit salad tomorrow!
Enjoy the long weekend.
