Lots going on again this week at Luckwell. On Tuesday we had a visit from Celso Paco who is visiting from Mozambique. He told us some stories and played some music on his African instruments. On Wednesday we had a harvest assembly led by our local vicar, Michael. Thanks to everyone who donated tins, we had a great number which I'm sure will be greatly appreciated by the people who receive them. Finally on Thursday it was open day. We performed our nursery rhymes and the teachers and Mrs Roberts thought we were excellent. We then had a chance to show our parents our learning diaries. The best bit was our treat afternoon. We played some games, then had snacks while we watched Horrid Henry. A well deserved afternoon for some very tired children.
YR have had a fantastic start to their time at Luckwell and have really impressed all the staff with their behaviour and how well they have gelled as a class. Thanks to all the parents for their support this term and we hope you have a great half term with lots of fun and rest.

A very active week
We have a had a very healthy week in school with lots of extra PE activities. On Tuesday Debbie Scroggs from Ashton Park came to do some Wake and Shake activities with us. This is something we do everyday for 10 minutes and Debbie gave us lots of good new ideas. Then on Wednesday we had our normal PE session. On Thursday we had a fun fitness session with Julie. She got us doing lots of fun moves and we made an animal dance. Although we are pretty tired with lot of coughs and colds going round we all participated well.
We have also been busy this week getting props ready for our Nursery Rhymes which we will be showing parents at 9 o'clock on Thursday. We hope to see lots of you then. Have a good weekend.

Full time
This has been YR's first full week in school and what a great week it's been. Miss Linton, Mrs Redpath and Mrs Williamson are all very proud of us. We have all made new friends, tried different activities and behaved well. Today was celebration assembly and all the teachers commented on how well YR sat and listened. We were really pleased to be the winners of the Golden Lunchbox, presented to the class who the SMSA's choose for being the best behaved at lunchtime. Fantastic news!
This week we have been singing some number rhymes, reading some more rhyming stories and learning to use the digital camera. We finished our week off by making a giant fruit salad containing some delicious fruits. A big thank you to all the parents for their donations of fruit.
Have a lovely weekend!

Lunches and lots of shapes
This week we had a chance to find out what lunch at Luckwell is like. On Monday and Tuesday our Mums, Dads and grandparents joined us, if they were able. Then on Friday the whole class met together for the first time and all got to have a play in the top playground with the rest of KS1. Great fun!
This week we have been focusing on shape, had fun doing some hand and footprints and also met one of the school's regular supply teachers Miss Gower.
Next week we are looking forward to being full time members of Luckwell Primary school. Have a restful weekend and hopefully see lots of you on Monday at the parents meeting - 2:45 pm in the classroom.
